The ‘Road Crew’ range is multi-section, high-performance and exceptional! Largely based on the most popular of our exclusive Millerods models, they’re ideally suited to fishing here in Australia – or anywhere in the world where your favourite rod is needed!

The Tripper is a powerful spin rod. The design is based on the Millerods popular custom rod model Beast Buster TOAD, one of Ian’s OG builds that’s popular for a host of saltwater species.

This is an overall big spin rod that packs small. Versatile and suitable for soft plastics, hard-bodies, topwater, bibless and more, with plenty of power to kick in hard for strong pelagics.

In Australia think saltwater species such medium pelagics, and similar fishes anywhere in the world.

In the hand, the Tripper oozes power. The slightly longer 7’5” length gives easy casting distance and line control – ideal for pelagic species and fishing in deeper water.

Blank construction is all custom, high-grade graphite and graphite composite. Our exclusive custom Road Crew blanks are not based on a simple selection of material that runs throughout the range, or even throughout each model. Every part is made of the most suitable blend for that specific section of the rod! All ferrules are ‘put in’ style, creating the optimal solution to create a more robust blank while maintaining the Millerods benchmarks of balanced sensitivity!

The multi-guide train features 8 guides plus tip-top in corrosion proof double foot titanium frames, and super hard Zirconia ceramic. This further enhances the smooth action and provides exceptional line control.

Of course, our custom exclusive anti-tangle hook keeper will be there at hand to keep your lure at the ready, but otherwise virtually disappears.

The handle is designed strong. Featuring a carbon pipe reel seat that’s reliable and suitable for a wide variety of reels, and carbon locking hood for low profile comfort in-hand. A short x-firm foregrip gives some extra purchase when fighting. The butt grip and the rounded butt cap are x-firm EVA to provide comfortable hard-wearing performance.

^Millerods recommends the use of the FG knot for connecting braided fishing lines to monofilament leaders. All Ian’s lure casting guide trains are selected with this connecting knot in mind.
