The ‘Road Crew’ range is multi-section, high-performance and exceptional! Largely based on the most popular of our exclusive Millerods models, they’re ideally suited to fishing here in Australia – or anywhere in the world where your favourite rod is needed!

The Switcher is a medium-heavy power baitcast rod. The design is based on the Millerods ‘SwitchFreak’, a popular rod both here in Australia, and in the USA. As the name suggests this rod is ideal for switching between lures and techniques, making it a perfect inclusion in the quiver of any travelling angler!

With a good degree of tip power and a smooth action overall, this rod is very versatile. In Australia it’s a popular rod for cod fishing with a variety of lures from frog/topwater to deep spinnerbaits. In the USA, add to the list jigs and various flipping techniques, a multitude of rigged plastics as well smaller swimbaits and glidebaits.

In the hand, the Switcher is sensitive and balanced, and at 7’3” the length is about as compatible to multiple techniques as it can get.

Blank construction is all custom, high-grade graphite blends. Our exclusive custom Road Crew blanks are not based on a simple selection of material that runs throughout the range, or even throughout each model. Every part is made of the most suitable blend for that specific section of the rod! All ferrules are ‘put in’ style, creating the optimal solution to create a more robust blank while maintaining the Millerods benchmarks of balanced sensitivity!

The multi-guide train features 11 guides plus tip-top in corrosion proof titanium frames, and super hard Zirconia ceramic. This further enhances the smooth action and provides exceptional line control.

Of course, our custom exclusive anti-tangle hook keeper will be there at hand to keep your lure at the ready, but otherwise virtually disappears.

The ergonomic handle features lightweight carbon reel seat and locking hood, with split grip extra-firm EVA. The casting grip is black while the butt grip is blue Camoufish EVA. The rounded rubber butt cap is hard wearing yet still allows the angler to leverage the rod against the body when fighting big fish.

^Millerods recommends the use of the FG knot for connecting braided fishing lines to monofilament leaders. All Ian’s lure casting guide trains are selected with this connecting knot in mind.
