Lake trout fishing in Australia is experiencing some fantastic times! A lot of this fishing is based on lure fishing, traditionally via trolling various trout lures and assisting this with lead core lines to increase running depths.

This type of fishing has been popular for many years but until now there hasn’t been a performance rod designed and dedicated to the application…

Enter the Millerods idler 682, combining the correct blank power, action, length and handle style all in the one rod design for the serious boating trout angler that trolls lead core line!

The blank is smooth loading with the correct power for trolling lead core line while still bending further with the weight of a fish, and has a softer middle section which is gentler on hook holds, something that’s regularly a problem with hooked trout.

The handle is also designed for adjustable rod holder use in mind, with the correct grip diameter to be locked down and long enough for holders or casting but not so long that the butt grip gets in the way when in the hand or a holder. The rear grip is hard wearing EVA in Millerods blue Camoufish colour. This is finished with the Millerods non-skid butt cap, which stops the rod from slipping around on the boat deck.

The Drifter reel seat is comfortable in the palm with a ‘soft touch’ barrel and the carbon tube foregrip/locking hood helps transfer the feel of the lure when the rod is hand-held.

There are a general total of 9 guides + tip-top guarantees super-smooth performance and rod loading whether trolling or fish fighting!

As always, the exclusive custom Millerods anti-tangle hook keeper is included for easy stowing of the lure when not in use.

While this design is primarily for use with lead core lines, this rod is also suitable for use with braid/leader combinations, and monofilament lines.
