Millerods Ambush models have become benchmark Swimbait rods for Aussie anglers - and unique designs in the swimbait rod world. This Road Crew model splits the power of our ’Lt’ and ‘H’ and models, effectively giving the new AMBUSHER a ‘medium’ power by default.

This equates to a wide range of lure weights, and a practical line rating – which screams ‘versatility’ – and all creates a rod that will cover most of the bases in the swimbait world! Add glides, topwater and other large lures to the list.

Whether this is cod fishing on the Murray, barra fishing in the Top End, Largemouth bass or pike in the northern hemisphere, the Ambusher has it covered.

At 7’0” length, the Ambusher is very accurate to cast around structure on lake edges and in any river environment, will also get good distance and very importantly, is much easier to control the lure for a soft landing which is vital for targeting fish in open water around the boat.

In the hand, this rod is sensitive with an excellent balance point, creating a rod that is a pleasure to use even for long sessions yet has plenty of power when needed. This is a big fish rod that packs very compact!

Blank construction is all custom, high-grade graphite. Our exclusive custom Road Crew blanks are not based on a simple selection of material that runs throughout the range, or even throughout each model. Every part is made of the most suitable blend for that specific section of the rod! All ferrules are ‘put in’ style, creating the optimal solution to create a more robust blank while maintaining the Millerods benchmarks of balanced sensitivity!

The multi-guide train features 11 guides plus tip-top in corrosion proof titanium frames, and super hard Zirconia ceramic. This further enhances the smooth action and provides exceptional line control.

Of course, our custom exclusive anti-tangle hook keeper will be there at hand to keep your lure at the ready, but otherwise virtually disappears.

The ergonomic handle features lightweight carbon reel seat and locking hood, with split grip extra-firm EVA for best energy transfer. The casting grip is black while the butt grip is blue Camoufish EVA. The rounded EVA butt cap allows the angler to leverage the rod against the body when fighting big fish. This is one heck of a finesse weapon for the swimbait anglers!

^Millerods recommends the use of the FG knot for connecting braided fishing lines to monofilament leaders. All Ian’s lure casting guide trains are selected with this connecting knot in mind.
