The ‘Road Crew’ range is multi-section, high-performance and exceptional! Largely based on the most popular of our exclusive Millerods models, they’re ideally suited to fishing here in Australia – or anywhere in the world where your favourite rod is needed!
The Finesser is a light-medium power spin rod. As the name would suggest, the design is based on the Millerods popular FinesseFreak model, one of our OG’s that’s super versatile and always popular!
This rod is a longer model that packs small. Perfect for finesse applications with small to medium size lures, and extra fish fighting power.
In Australia this means flathead, and most estuary species. Internationally there’s a long list of saltwater and freshwater fish of this size and ilk that respond to lures in this size range. We extensively tested the prototype on smallmouth and largemouth bass with jighead rigged soft plastics. Across Europe and Asis there is a host of species that fit this profile.
In the hand, the Finesser is sensitive and balanced. The slightly longer 7’5” length gives easy casting distance and line control – ideal for flats, and also deeper water. This makes the Finesser an excellent choice as a ‘one-rod’ selection for travel, especially if light land-based casting is on the agenda.
Blank construction is all custom, high-grade graphite blend. Our exclusive custom Road Crew blanks are not based on a simple selection of material that runs throughout the range, or even throughout each model. Every part is made of the most suitable blend for that specific section of the rod! All ferrules are ‘put in’ style, creating the optimal solution to create a more robust blank while maintaining the Millerods benchmarks of balanced sensitivity!
The multi-guide train features 9 guides plus tip-top in corrosion proof titanium frames, and super hard Zirconia ceramic. This further enhances the smooth action and provides exceptional line control.
Of course, our custom exclusive anti-tangle hook keeper will be there at hand to keep your lure at the ready, but otherwise virtually disappears.
The ergonomic handle features lightweight carbon reel seat parts in a skeleton design to enhance sensitivity during lure retrieves, with an EVA locking hood to provide some extra casting leverage. The butt grip is x-firm EVA and the rounded rubber butt cap provide comfortable hard-wearing performance.
^Millerods recommends the use of the FG knot for connecting braided fishing lines to monofilament leaders. All Ian’s lure casting guide trains are selected with this connecting knot in mind.
