This is a true bass pack rod, not a light freshwater noodle rod like many 4pc pack rods. While it still has some tip action, it is best used with small-medium size hard bodied bass hard bodied lures and spinnerbaits. Lower down the rod has plenty of power to help tame big bass in tight country!

The shorter length and medium action of the PackFreak make easy work of accurate casting whether from a boat, canoe, kayak or on foot. The shorter rod also makes it easier to get a lure in and under overhanging trees and branches where river fish often lie in wait.

The four piece blank construction makes this rod equally suited as a travel rod when using these size lures and lines.

There is a choice of guide trains. Ian’s composite titanium guide set (comprising a Fuji titanium K-SiC stripper with Recoil titanium alloy wire guides in Black Pearl) is corrosion proof and super lightweight; or Ian's own semi-micro selection of the latest Fuji KR guides keeps the guide set ultra-light, and makes this rod suitable for both braid/leader combos and monofilament lines.

Fuji SKSS reel seats and hand-shaped cork, or x-firm EVA in Camoufish or black are matched with our custom stainless steel/rubber counter-weighting butt cap and the highest quality machined trims.
