A recent addition to the Millerods Shortstroker line-up is the ‘Mad Miller’ based on Ian’s latest custom made blank. This blank still loads perfectly under conventional strike drag but boasts massive power reserves for those that want to aggressively fight large game fish and the blank action will hold its shape all the way to line-breaking drag settings.  

Mostly these rods are ordered with straight detachable butts but the short curved butt is also a popular option on this model especially for those anglersalso targeting tunas.  

Big game work with 24kg line is almost exclusively with roller guides as the preferred guide option. Most anglers prefer to use a full set of Aftco HD guides however Aftco Wind-On guides and top are sometimes requested. WTE roller guides and top are also chosen for their increased performance aspects including the larger clearance allowing many types of knots, connections and attachments to easily pass over the rollers. WTE guides also offer sealed roller bearings, titanium components and high qualityanodised alloy frames. Please ask for the price of this upgrade.
